That positioning leaves room for different relationship configurations. Someone can use the product for friendship, imaginative scenes, or an ongoing character relationship. The point is not to pretend the AI is a human. Nomi's terms expressly say that users are not interacting with an actual human and warn that a Nomi can make mistakes.

Nomi AI voice: capable, continuous, and paid

Nomi documents three useful voice paths. You can play a written Nomi response aloud, send a voice message instead of typing, or start a continuous hands-free call. An “Always Reply With Voice” setting can read responses aloud even when the user types.

Voice is available with paid Nomi subscriptions. Nomi says its in-house voices and custom voices have unlimited usage, while ElevenLabs use depends on the user's separate ElevenLabs allowance. The product also documents custom voice creation from a short sample.

This is where Nomi clearly beats Nola. Nola currently supports voice input through a microphone control, but the approved product evidence does not establish a two-way spoken call. Nomi's terms confirm two things: some aspects of the service are free, and several fee-based upgrades exist. The privacy policy likewise refers to upgrading from a free account, and the voice documentation places voice on paid subscriptions.

Nomi's payment documentation says web subscriptions are billed in US dollars, Apple purchases use the App Store currency, and Google Play prices depend on the user's region. It also allows sharing for service delivery, legal requirements, advisors, and business transfers.

The policy states that Nomi does not sell or rent personal information. That is useful policy wording, but it is not a guarantee that the service is completely private or secure. The same policy says no internet or cellular transmission can be guaranteed secure and asks users not to include personally identifiable information in their Nomi content.

One question remains open. The policy refers to “training or communications archives” as an exception around deletion, but it does not clearly say whether chat content enters generative-model training, for what purpose, or with what consent.
